Wind Ensemble Reminder
Reminder to all wind ensemble students – please take your instruments home today to bring to our performance on Sunday. See you at 10:30 at the rec center!
Yearbook
There will be a Yearbook meeting after school on Monday, October 28th, in room 312.
Early Morning Chorus
Attention 6th Grade Band and Orchestra members. If you are interested in singing with the Chorus this year please come to room 114 during extra help this Tuesday, October 29th, and sign up with Ms. Elias. We will practice together every Tuesday morning and this is the first one! See you there!
World Language Club
The next World Language Club will meet November 7th in room 217. Please join us in creating delicious Belgium waffles.
6th Grade Mixer
Reminder: Attention 6th graders – you’re invited to the SSMS 6th grade Mixer and Halloween Costume Contest on Sunday at Maple Lanes 4:30 pm – 6:30 PM
Sports
The 8th grade boys’ soccer team finished off the season with a strong win over Manhasset Middle School with a final score of 4-1. Henry Rocafort scored 2 goals, Brendan Barry and Roman Guarini each scored a goal as well. Aaron Hettinger did an amazing job ain goal as usual. Shout out to Jack Morin, Daniel Tobman, Isaiah Allison and Michael Desena for a great performance as well. Way to go boys!
The Boys’ 7th grade soccer team ended their season with two wins against Roslyn and Manhasset. They defeated Roslyn 4-3 and Manhasset 7-2. Goals were scored by Jack and Matthew Ollendike, Oliver Newhaus, Adam Quenttant, and Thomas Gullishan. Excellent field play by Julian Hardenburgh, Miles Woo who had 3 assists and Kellen Walley. Play of both games goes to Luca Coughlin, Ben Tarazi, and Ryan “Tank” Mullin who played spectacular in goal. The team finished the year with a 6-2 and 1 record. Mr. McGorty and Coach Swayne are very proud of the whole team. Go Cyclones!
The girls’ tennis team wrapped up an awesome season yesterday with their match against Lynbrook! Matches were won by Regan St. John, Valeria Nunez, Kelly Marquez, Jade Fernandez and Zoe Daboosh. Shoutout to Kristyn Gibney and Maddie James for being beasts at the net. Great season girls! Coach Heffez is so proud of everyone!
