Action and Service Club

Sports News
The 8th grade girls’ soccer team had an impressive win over Weber Middle School Friday with a score of 6-1. Katelyn Breen and Catherine Thieibule scored 2 goals each. Cait Cinque and Johanna Murray added one more goal each. Excellent assists from Sophia Albarano and Lily Drew. Fantastic defense was played by Nicole Breen, Ava Connolly and Maddie Cammelleri. Our goalies Maeve McNamara and Devine Mullany showed impressive goal keeping, only allowing one Weber goal through. GO CYCLONES!
The Boys 8th grade soccer team went back on the winning track after a tough 2-1 win over Great Neck North. Adam Quettant scored two goals off a free kick and an assist from captain Josh Darlington. The play of the game goes to Jacob Oswald who kicked out a far post cross ball that almost rolled into the net with 5 minutes remaining in the game. Great goaltending by Luca Coughlin and Ben Tarazi. Mr. McGorty and Ms. Swayne are proud of the team’s efforts. The team returns to play next week versus Roslyn. Go Cyclones!
The girls’ team won their match against Baldwin on Monday! Singles matches were won by Emma Froman, Shannon Lahey, Angie Real, and Hannah Savarese. Doubles were won by Olivia Culver and Camryn Kuhlmey, and Jade Cort and Lily Smith. Great job girls!! Coach Heffez and Coach Azueta are so proud of the whole team.
The South Side Middle School Cross Country Team domibated their meet at Baldwin Park on Monday October 6th. The top 7 runners for the girls were all south Side runners, special shout out to our top four, Lily O’Brien, Natalie Morris, ginger McKenna and Anya Vessa. For the boys our top runners included Nolan Narine, MP McBreen, Owen Pennisi and Robert Radano. Coach Baulch, Coach Pinto and Coach Nastro are very proud of the whole team!
